Site Gate

SETUP AND SUPPORT

Set your website rules.

Start with three steps

  1. Open Site Gate from the Chrome toolbar. If necessary, open Chrome's Extensions menu and pin Site Gate.
  2. Select Block selected or Allow selected only.
  3. Enter a domain, such as example.com, and click Add.

Add and remove websites

You can enter a domain or paste a full HTTP or HTTPS address. To add several websites, separate them with commas. Click Add current website to add the domain in the active tab. Use the search field to find an entry. Click its × button to remove it.

A domain entry includes all subdomains. For example, example.com includes www.example.com and docs.example.com. Paths and ports do not limit a rule. Each list can contain up to 1,000 domains.

Use the allow list

Allow selected only blocks all HTTP and HTTPS websites except the domains on your allow list. It uses a separate list from Block selected. Both lists are saved when you change modes.

An empty allow list blocks all HTTP and HTTPS websites when protection is on. You can always open the extension panel to add a website or pause protection.

Pause or retry

Use the protection switch to pause or start website control. Changes apply to open tabs. If a website was blocked, change the rule and click Try this website again on the local blocked page.

Private browsing and limits

To use Site Gate in private browsing, first enable Allow in Incognito in Chrome's extension details. Chrome system pages, local files, embedded frames, and individual page resources are outside the website filter's scope.

Report a problem

Open an issue on the Site Gate support page. Include your Chrome version, extension version, selected mode, and steps to reproduce the problem. Use example domains where possible. GitHub issues are public. Do not include private URLs, browsing history, passwords, or other sensitive information.

Read the privacy policy for details about local data handling.
